Shrinking in my own strength and wisdom and EXPANDING in the understanding of what God can do in and through the person who lives and moves in faith.

Tears came to my eyes as I read these testimonials from Mount Clare, an inner-city Christian school associated with Wilkens Avenue Mennonite Church, Baltimore. Seven of my grandchildren have gone to this school. My daughter Gwen is the principal and my daughter Marita and her husband Todd are the pastors of the church. So we have a lot of thoughts and prayers surrounding this sacred space in the inner-city.
I am a board certified psychiatrist (shrink).I am also a pastor. My faith,not my professional credentials,defines me. Therefore I say that I am an 'expander' not a 'shrink'.
My sense of the significance of what I can do in my own strength has shrunk over the years. My awareness of what Christ can do in the person yielded to His will has expanded over the years.
